WAR IN THE AIR
GERMAN TOWNS RAIDED. GOOD RESULTS OBSERVED. (Australian, N.Z. and Reuter.) Received October 12, 10.5 a.m. LONDON, October 11. The Press Bureau reports that tho Independent Air Force on Wednesday night heavily attacked the railways at Mezieres, Metz-Sablon, and Thionville and the aerodromes at Frescaty and Morhonge. Good results were observed at Mezieres. Five direct hits were made "at Metz-Sablon railway station, a fire being caused, two direct hits at Thionville station and four on Karlsruhe works. A total of 22i tons of bombs were dropped. We again heavily attacked Metz-Sablon to-day, securing five, direct hits.
