AUCKLAND MARKETS. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report:—On Wednesday at our weekly Westlleld fat stock market our entry of fat cattle numbered 245 head, comprising 177 steers, CG cows and heifers, and two bulls. There continues to be a strong demand with values linn at last week's figures. Choice ox beef sold to £2 15s por 1001b; prime ox beef, £2 10s to £2 13.;; rough and ordinary beef, £2 2s to £2 8s; cow and heifer beef, £2 4s to £2 10s. Steers ranged in price from £lO 12s Gd to £24 10s; cows and heifers, £8 2s Gd to £IG 7s Gd. The highest Waikato averages for sl"ers were: 1G from Mr Ed. Best heavy, £1 12s to £1 14s 6d; lighter, £1 9s Gd to £1 lis Gd. There was a large yarding of fat and young calves. Choice vealcrs and freshdropped sold at late high rates; other vealers and runners were easier in price. Runners made from £6 to £9 17s 6d; heavy vealers, £5 to £6 10s; medium, £3 10s to £4 15s; light, £2 5s to £3 ss; small and fresh-dropped, 5s to £2 2s (14G sold). Pigs were yarded in average numbers, and sold at late rales. There is still a very strdng demand, for slips and weaners at extreme values. Large baconers' made from £6 5s to £7; other baconers, £4 10s to £6; large porkers, £3 15s to £4 ss; medium, £3 5s to £3 12s Gd; small, £2 15s to £3; slips and weaners, £1 14s 6d to £2 12s (157 sold). Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having held their weekly sale of fat stock at Westlleld on Wednesday, as under:—Beef: A medium yarding, which sold at last week's rates. Extra prime ox sold at up to £2 15s; ordinary quality, £2 8s to £2 10s; cow and heifer beef, £2 10s. Veal: A fair yarding, and prices were equal to last week's rates. Heavy runners sold at up to £5 10s; heavy suckers. £3 5s to £5 10s; small, 20s to 35s Gd. Mutton: A medium yarding and prices were an improvement on last week. Prime wethers sold at up to £2 ss, for extra heavy; medium weight, 35s to 40s; prime ewes, up to 33s to £2 4s Gd; shorn wethers, 30s to 3Gs. Lamb: Good, 345; medium, 2Gs. Pork: A large yarding, which sold at late rates. Choppers made £5 15s to £7 17s Gd; hacone.'s, £4 to £5; porkers, 35s to £3; weaners, 20s to 31s.

We held our usual stock sale at Pio Pio on Thursday, 3rd inst., and liavo to report spirited competition for all classes of stock, the whole of our entry changing hands under the hammer. The prices realised are as follow:—Fat cows, good, £ll to £ls; prime fat heifers, £9; store bullocks, four years, £lO 15s to £l2 10s; three-year steers, £8 to £9 ss; two-year steers, £7 to £8; empty cows, fair condition, £9; backward store cows, with calves, £ll 10s; empty two-year heifers, £6 12s to £9; yearling steers and heifers, low condition, £4 6s to, good, £7 7s; cull calves, £2 10s. Of dairy stock there was a fair entry, and the demand was firm for good sorts. Good forward springing heifers £l4, others made from £9 to £l3. Bulls, 7gns to Sheep: Small entry.
