RABBITS IN AUSTRALIA
BECOMING A MENACE. (United Press Association.) SYDNEY, October 10. Rabbits are becoming a serious menace in many parts of the State. The shortage of labour and the prohibitive price of wire netting and the scarcity of poisons, as the result of the war, combined with an abundance of feed during the past two years, have led to an enormous increase and spread of the pest. Pastoralists and farmers are becoming seriously akurned in some of the western districts. However, the rabbits are reported to lie dying in large numbers of a mysterious disease and shortage of feed.
