WAIKATO A. AND P. ASSOCIATION

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the above association was held yesterday morning. PresentMessrs T. Clarkin (vice-precident, in the chair), Teddy, Newell, McKee, Thomas, Park, Standen, Bellamy, BinHie. Apologies were received from Messrs J. C. Potts, F. R. Seddon, T. Hinton and Ewan. Mr H. J. Booth intimated that a previous engagement would prevent Jum acting as judge at the association s show. Mr J. Sloane, Dargaville, wrote that Jie could not see his way clear to accept the position as judge of light horses, as he had heen urging several young men to prepare horses for exhibition. and these had intimated that if Mr Sloane were debarred from exhibiting they would not compete at the show. Lnder the circumstances he would decline the judgeship.—The committee expressed appreciation of the sportsmanlike action of Mr Sloane and accorded him a vote of thanks Mr A. J .smith wrote thanking the association for electing him a life member. The secretary was instructed to endeavour to arrange for the same railway facilities as were granted last year. The Auctioneering Company were appointed railway stewards. The question of advertising was referred to. the Finance Committee. It was decided to ask Mr Harold Windsor to take the duties of head steward in connection with the guessing competition. The New Zealand Milking Shorthorn Association forwarded cheque for £lO 10s for prizes for the show.—Accepted with thanks. It was decided'to ask Mr A. W. Green of the Ruakura Farm for the assistance of any cadets from the farm to assist the stewards as they had done in previous years.

The trustees of the Southwell School applied for the use of part of the showgrounds for playing purposes for the boys. Mr Newell, who holds the grazing rights, expressed his willingness to give the boys the right of the grounds, and on his motion permission was given. Eighteen new members were elected. Various matters in connection with the forthcoming show were discussed and arranged.
