TRANSPORT PROBLEMS
BUPPLIEB FROM OVERBEAB. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn ) Received August 18, 5.5 p.m LONDON, August 16. The Australian and New Zealand editors conferred with Mr J. R. Clynes, Minister of Food Control. Mr Clynes, in welcoming ttfem, said he regretted that the shipping stringency had made It impossible for the Government to avail itself of essential commodities in food and clothing of which. Australian and New Zealand had been great suppliers. He would he very glad if the situation could be relieved •so as to enable the importation of food from the remote parts of the Empire; and the Government was applying themselves to this problem with the greatest sympathy and earnestness.
