BILLIARD TOURNAMENT

AT RETURNED SOLDIERS' CLUB. The final -of the billiard tournament I at the Returned Soldiers' Club last night, between Messrs M. MeGeehan and J. E. Hollywood, resulted in rather an easy win for the former. There was a large crowd of spectators present. MeGeehan was in good form. IDs best breaks were 16, IS, two 19's, 24 and 40. The loser was not quite up to form, and the balls were breaking safe with him. His best breaks ranged from 10 to 13. The prizes, which were presented by Mr .1. Loughlin, were exceedingly handsome. They comprised a wristlet watch and medal for the winner, and a solid >ilver cigarette case for the runner-up. A prize of a travelling-bag was also given by Mr Loughlin for the best break, apart from those of the first two prize-winners. This was won by T. Winter. Some very dose games were witnessed during the tournament, evidencing careful handicapping on the part of .Mr <". Mackiiuler.
