IMPERIAL APPEAL COURT
MR HUGHES' PROPOSAL. MEETS WITH STIIONG OPPOSITION. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, July 17. The Imperial Conference discussed Mr Hughes' resolution for creating a new Imperial Court ot Appeal leplaciag the Privy Council. In a lengthy argument, Mr Hughes outlined his project, including the appointment ot dominion representatives. The Conference, including Lord Findlay, the Lord Chancellor, genera! ly concurred in the lot;ic for the change. The Now Zealand representatives on the whole heartily supported Hi Hughes. Strong opposition developed on the grounds of practicability, the Lord Chancellor and others urging that drastic changes require an upheaval in methods and procedure, which is undesirable. Tne discussion was adjourned.
