THE IRISH QUESTION
SINN FEINS' PROPOSAL.
PAVING THE WAY.
FOR A MUTUAL UNDER- "*
STANDING.
(Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received December 12, 7 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 12.
Mr do Vakra, M.P., for East Clare, in a remarkable speech in County Cork, said that Nationalist Ireland, whether desiring separation from or inclusion in, the Empire, ought to march shoulder to shoulder with it. Neither party should doubt the others' motives. It is generally believed that tfie speech signifies that the Sinn Feiners are anxious to pave the way for an understanding if a satisfatcory settlement is offered in regard to Ireland.
