SUPREME COURT
HAMILTON—FRI DAY
(Before His H onor, .Mr Justice Cooper.) The sitting of the Supreme Court was continued at Hamilton to-day, his Honor, Mr Justice Cooper, presiding.
Claim for Rent and Possession. In the case of Crosby v. Crosby, the plaintiff, an old lady of 85, sought to recover from her son, Thomas Crosby, the sum of £2(H) for use and occupation of 50 acres, near Hamilton, also posses, sion of said property. Mr MacDiarmid appeared for plaintill, and Mr Gillies for defendant. The latter admitted that the onus of proof was on him, and unless lie establishes his defence the plaintiff was entitled to judgment.
His Honor asked if it was not possible to settle the dispute between the parties themselves. It was very regrettable that family troubles should be ventilated in Court. He urged that the parties should meet and endeavour to bring about an amicable arrangement. His Honor's suggestion was agreed to.
