ATHLETIC GAMES
HOCKEY. YESTERDAY'S MATCHES. P. and T. v. United. In the match. Post and Telegraph v. United, the latter won by 5 to nil, the scores being Jaine (3), Booth and Hughes (1 each). For the winners Gtodwin, Knott and Pirie showed to most advantage in the back division, and Hughes and*Jaine in the forwards. For the P. and T. team. Hunter was the star, assisted by Chainey in the forwards, and Marquand at naif played a sterling game. Jamieson and Maxwell also played well. The latter stopped some hot shots at goal. The referees were Messrs Kiilip and Watts. High School v. United B. TJrs proved an easy win for High School, who won by 12 to nil. There were some good displays of individual play amongst the losing team. Rev. J. D. McArthur had control of the game.
LADIES' CLUBS. An enthusiastic meeting of the Hamilton Girls' Hockey Association was lield last night in the library, when representatives from the local teams were present. The following officers were elected: President. Mrs Bollard: vice-presidents, Mrs Wilson, Miss Collins. Mr Hall, Mr Fabling; secretary and treasurer. Miss Harrison. The arrangements for the tournament to be played for the Brewis Cup were left in the hands of the secretary. A meeting was then held of the Saturdav plavers, when it was decided to form the Old Girls* Club, for which the following officers were elected: President, Mrs Wilson: vice-presi-dents. Mrs H. Valder, Mrs Rogers. Miss Roche, Miss Fawcett; secretary and treasurer. Miss L. Newell: committee. Miss May Beach, Miss Gladys Carter, Miss * Grace McMicken; referee and coach, Mr Fabling.
