SUNDAY GOLF
WELLINGTON BY-LAW INVALID. DECISION OF THE FULL COURT. (15v Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, Wednesday. (£hc Full Court delivered judgment tins morning; in the case, Doyle v. Whitehead in regard to Sunday golf on the Wellington municipal links. The Court was unanimous in upholding the decision of the Magistrate that the bylaw which prohibited playing or practising golf on Sundays upon any reserve vested in the- Wellington City Council was ultra vires anj invalid. The Court hold that the by-law was to enforce Sunday observation, and it was, theretore contrary to section 347 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908. The Court also held that it was invalid as being unreasonable. The appeal, theretore, was dismissed, with JL'll) costs.
