.Mr J. A. \oung, M.P., will open the Horticultural and Industrial Society's Show at -Morrinsville to-day, on behalf of Hon. \V. I!. Merries, uiio is unable to be present. -Mr J. McCaw, the farmers' representative on the First Auckland Military Se vice B aid, is in hospital, and his place on the board ig being taken by -Mr Timothy Pine, of Tc Kuiti. The late Lord Lucas left substantial legacies to three well-known English literary men"To Mr Hilar.- Belloc £3OOO, tho same amount to MiMaurice Baring, and £IOOO to Mr (J. K. Chesterton.
