PEOPLE'S DAY. MARKED BY IIALW Unfortunately heavy rain spoiled the proceedings at the Franklin A. and P. Show, at Pukekohe, on Saturday, and the large crowd of visitors, who made their way in during the morning, while the wrather was fine, spent a damp and somewhat Unpleasant afternoon owing to no shelter having been erected 011 the ground. Despite this unpropitiousnrss, however, the attendance was a I ove that 011 people's day last year, hut the majority who came by rail got awav by the earliest trains. Although the ground was very muddy and slippery in tlie afternoon, the ring events were continued, but were naturally robbed of much of their spectacular effect.
