FRANKTON CLUB. THIRD YEAR'S OPERATIONS The past season of the Fran! Croquet Club has been a most succ iul one financially, and pleasant members and visitors. The club v ed Hamilton, Whitiora, Cambridge, was represented in the annual tou incut at Cambridge, .Mrs W. S. ] gins being the runner-up for the ch pionship at Hamilton, while Mrs got into the finals. Visits have 1 paid the club by Hamilton, Whiti and Ngaruawahia, but owing to patriotic work the ladies of the have been engaged in during war t tlioy have been unable to go f home for games. To the donors prizes the club is indebted, while lawn superintendent, Mr Bull, had formed work for which the members grateful.

On the occasion of its annual meel the club elected the following ofl bearers for the new season:—Pident, -Mr R. R. Coltman; viee-pr dents, Mesdamfs F. Jolly, Todd -Miss Speedy, Messrs T. Jolly, thews, Dewhirst, Fi'aser-Smith, Bi Higgins, Sanford, Turner, and AY att; secretary and treasurer, Mrs Watt; auditor, Mr W. A. Gosling; cc mittee, Mesdames Higgins, Pearse, Watt, .Matthews, Davis, Fraser-Sm and Miss Higgins.
