WHITE SLAVE SCANDAL IN NEW YORK. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) NEW YORK, August 30. The Public Prosecutor, who is investigating allegations in connection with the white slave traffic, has 3."> pages of affidavits in his possession concerning a millionaires' banquet given in New York, at which white slaves were hired for the entertainment of the guests. It is stated that the host at the banquet was an artist. The affidavits contain the most startling disclosures since Evelyn Thaw (formerly Evelyn Nesbit) gave evidence of scandalous proceedings that went on at a banquet given by the man who it was alleged ruined her.
