WALTON. Dairying Season. Tin' dairying season has commenced in real earnest, and many farmers are increasing their herds in anticipation of a. plentiful supply nl' feed and good prices. The greater part of the district is currying on under the home separation system, supplying the cream to tlie Waikato's Co-operative Dairy Company and the New Zealand Dairy Association; hut the price which is ruling for cheese is very tempting, and there is an uneasiness in the mind of the home separator that is causing him to cheese factory, which was in operation considerably. The Richmond Downs cliees factory, which was in operation part of last season, and paid very encouraging returns to the suppliers, has sold the output for the coming season at the very satisfactory price of 9jd per lb. Mr G. W. Ross, the secretary to the company making an estimate from last year's operations says that the present sale of the output is equal to Is lid per lb butter fat. Fodder Experiments. *M> E. B. W. Cole has been experimenting with different kinds of green fodder for the cows during the early autumn when the ordinary pastures have lost most of tho qualities for milk production. He has now several very fine- patches of lucerne which, from all appearance so far, is most suitable for . this district. Mr J. Gilliogham also has a very fine patch that cut a lot of good fodder last season. : Our TtMhtr. .
