T. Johnson, 01 Pirongia, who is one ot the provisional directors ol the Uaikalo Shipping Company, Ltd., which is the name tinder which the wider concern js to he known, placet; the proposals before his audience in a concise manner, and the meetings approval of iheni was indicated by the enthusiasm at the close. -Mr Johnson was one ol the principals in the original agitation to tor.a a company to deal adequately with a service purely lor the Waipa. He explained why he favouicd the bigger scheme, the terms on which the Waipa people were being received, and the services which would be accorded them, ghing it as his opinion that the amalgamation of the whole ot the shiping interests would mean more progress than could be hoped for under a purely local scheme. At a meting, held subsequently, the report of the provisional directors vas adopted by the shareholders.
