DESTROYED BRIDGES

RESENTMENT IN GREECE. DIFFICULTY IN TRANSPORTING SUPPLIES. FORCES MAY HAVE TO DISBAND. Received January 17. 12.4.1 p.m. LONDON. January 1(5. Renter's Salonika correspondent states that the destruction of the railway bridge at Demirhissar caused a sensation in Greek circles, as it almost cuts off communication with Eastern Macedonia. The population of Seres and the Greek troops in that region are largely dependent upon Salonika for supplies, and they are now faced with the broblem of revictualling, and may he compelled to disband. It is reported that all the bridges and viaducts on the Demirhissar line beyond Kilinder have been blown up, and the telephones and telegraphs severed. While many Greeks are resentful, the opinion appears to be that the Allies have the best reasons for these measures of precaution.
