He leaves a, wife and fi\e children. NEW PLYMOUTH, Sunday. An inquest on the body of Jensen, second mate of the schooner C. S. Holmes, was opened yesterday morning, but was adjourned after taking tho evidence of the first mate, who stated that Jensen was the worse for liquor when he last saw him. WELLINGTON, Mondav.
A builder named Henry Gray, of tho firm of McLean and Gray, died on Saturday as the result of an accident. While he was standing on the ground, a small pinch-bar fell from the v third floor of the new Club Hotel in Lambton, a distance of about 40ft, and struck him on the top of the head, penetrating about 3in. He was picked up in a few minutes and medical aid summoned, hut though an operation was performed, he sank. He leaves a widow and three young children.
John Bell Shellbourne, aged 67, lost his life early tnis morning in the destruction by fire of a workshop at Petone, where he was in the habit of sleeping. Dceeased suffered from deafness, and was presumably suffocated while asleep.
