Hareourt, in reply to Mr Joynson-HWxs, said his attention had l)een called to a petition from a French resident in the New Hebrides, purporting to l>e signed by British subjects, requesting that they lie brought tinder the French Bag;, but he had received information in regard to certain of the signatories, which prevented him attaching undue weight to the petition. ANGLO-FRENCH CONFERENCE. NAVAL COMMISSIONER'S POWER. LONDON. -May 14. Mr Churchill informed Mr tDnuglas Hall that at the forthcoming AngloFrench Conference lie will discuss the joint Naval Commission's powers in the New Hebrides.
