TE KOWHAI BRANCH. " 'IK KOWHAI, Thursday. I The usual monthly meeting of the above branch was held in the school on , Tuesday owning, Mr (!. A. French, in the absence of the chairman, presiding j over the me'ting. The remits for the , arnual conic;once at Auckland on the 20th inst. were considered in detail, , and it was decided to strongly support . the Waitoa-lemit, "that imported goods should bo carried at the same rate as locally-manufactured goods," and also the Patorahgi remit dealing with" the disadvantage of selling chaff with "sacks in." Mr ('. A. French was unanimously ( elected as delegate to represent the branch at the annual conference. Tt was decided that the branch approach the member for the district for the pur- , pose of procuring increased postal facilities for To Kowhai. A resolution was also carried, that the attention of i the Newcastle Road Fhfard bo drawn to the state of the road from Mi- Body's .' to the junction .with Mclvor's RoadTsq .'.' that improvements 'maV be effected be- ,' fore winter sets in properly. An animated discussion then tbok place on the i casein question, at the conclusion of which many of those present signed the : requisition for the erection of a plant at Te Kowhai. Mr W.
