AUCKLAND, Thursday.
The Auckland Government members are leaving lor Wellington to-night, and it ia understood that a caucus of Government members will be held in Wellington in the course of the next few days to consider the • political crisis.

CONFERENCE AT. CHRISTCHURCH.
CHRISTCURCII, Thursday
Sir Joseph Ward met. the South Island members af the Liberal party here this morning. Those present were the Hon. Guinness. Messrs Ell, Isitt, Davey, Russell, Laurenson, Witty, Dickie, Buxton, Cratgie, Seadon, McCallum, Colvin, Forbos, Hannan, Thomson and Sidey. The conference lasted two hours, at the conclusion of which Sir J. G. Ward said the meeting was a private one and he had no commur*cation to make to the Frees.
Sir Joseph returns to "Wellington to-night.
