ALTERATIONS TO BOUNDARIES.

TE AROHA'S PROTEST. SUCCESSFUL PETITIONS. BACK IN TAURANGA. AMENDING THE BOUNDARIES. PUKEKORE RE-INSTATED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON. This day. The Boundaries Commission after dealing, with the petitions in connection, with their first definition of the electoral boundaries, have now issued an amended report. Tbe chiet features of Wadkato. interest in this' report are 'given below. The statement available to the press does not- define the alterations in detail, but thfcre> is sufficient information to give a clear idea of the concessions that have ibeen made to the petitioners. One of the localities upon..' which attention had centred a good- deal was Te A rob a, the inclusion of which, in the Ohanemuri electorate meant that three hotels in the town would be deprived of their licenses. This, it was stated, would considerably affect the prosperity of the town, as a tourist resort. The Commissioners went into' the matter fully, and as will be seer, below the petition of the Te Archa Council and Cbamiber of Commerce was complied with, Te Archa being re-transferred to Tauraniga 'electorate. Apparently also the Katikati protest against inclusion, in. the 01 muri electorate has been practic?lly successful, and here again the "half way" tourist hotel is registered in the "licensed " districts of Taurfnsra. In. Mr electorate of Franklin, Pukekobe, which objected to transference .to Raglan, is put hack agiain into its former electorate. OHINEMURI. The Katikati Farmers' Union, and 168 residents of Katikati petitioned that the Kaitkati riding be retained in the Tauranga electorate and to. be not placed in the Ohinemuri electorate. This has been partially complied with. Messrs Given and Gilchrist reqpested that Te Archa township and a portion of Te 'Aiuha riding be excluded from the electorate of Ohinemuri. This has been partially complied with. The Te Arc-ha Borough Council a;. i Chamber of Commerce and 303 resident:-:, protested against the inclusion of Te Aroba in Ohinemuri, and petitioned that they be retained .a the Tauranga electorate. Complied with. FRANKLIN. The Pukekobe Town Board and Mr j Massey asked that the Pukekobe district be retained in tbe Franklin electorate, instead of in tbe Raglan electorate. Complied with. This alteration places) the township ot Pukekobe in the Franklin, electorate. TAUMARUNUI. Mr N. Winter, Taumarunui, wrote requesting that the bead pollingplace should be at Taumaruoui, instead of at Waitara. This was referred to the chief electoral officer.
