PRESENTATION OF CHAMPIONSHIP CUP. EXIT NO. I. A social which marks the exit of No. L Football Club was held by the club at the Frankton Town Hall last evening. There was a very large gathering, which danced t'o the early morning hours on a good floor, and to music supplied by Mr | Stevens' orchestra. After a supper of good things had been supplied Mr V a rney, president of the Hamilton Football Union, presented the cims jand banner won by the No. I. Club J this year. The senior cup | was received by Mr Price, the iunior •shield by Mr Clark, and the thirdclass championship cup by Mr Galibraith, and the seven-aside sweaters jby Mr Salter. In making the presentation Mr Varney said that the club had a most creditable record, i having won the championship six ; times. He wa> sorry to see No. l.'s jexit hut he hoped next year Ito see Frankton, which would be No. I. as the winners. After this pleasant duty was performed, Mr McjKinnon stepped forward and present!ed Mr Varney with. a full-sized mounted photo of No. E.'s senior ; team. Mr Mcßinoon spoke highly of IMr Varney's services to the club', and ;said that Mr Varney had been 11 : years at the head of affairs. As the ; photo was handed over the company | sang "For He's a Jolly Hood j Fellow" and aave three ! cheers. The social was a credit to I the club and the committee. Messrs JMcKinnon, Salter, Price, Keating, S Bradley, Varney and Glasgow li,! ! everything in their power to make ! the evening pleasant to all. Messrs McKinnon and Salter were M.C.'s, and during the evening vocal items |were contributed by Messrs Coleman, i Brown, .and Stevens. Me9dames Tay- : lnr and J a -jues kindly played music for extra dances.
