RIVERS OF MUD.
VIOLENT STORM AT NAPLES. HOUSES SWEPT AWAY. ETNA QUIETENING. (Per Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received Sept. 23, 9.10 a.m.), ROME, Sept. 22. haa been a , violent storn with torrential rating at Naples. There are severe inundations and numerous buildings at Resin® were swept away. Six bodies have been recovered and many are missfatg;, while many are ro ported 'dead. R'vers of mud are flowing down the slopes of Vesuvius, and many families are imprisoned dn their homes.
Rescue parties have left Naples. Thi- eruption of Etna is diminishing with remarkable rapidity.
