REVOLUTIONARY RIOTS
MANY ARRESTS MADE

Revolutionaries a t Sarogente redacted the Arcila scenes but the military restored order. RE VOLITION AND STRIKE. SERIOUS ASPECT, MADRID, Sept. 21. The revolutionaries in the provinces are now displaying Less activity, and th© situation is quieter. At Ferrol (, a seaport in Gal-iciaVth© complete stoppage of work is impeding the public services. The food supply .being scarce, a detachment of the Army Corps is engaged in making bread. A secret session of the Workingmen's Association at the seaport town of Gijon decided upon a . general strike. The, revolutionaries at Caroagente indulged in acts of violence, and the military had to be called out to restore order. Three hundred arrests have been made in Madrid in connection with the disturbances, and 158 rioters nave been apprehended at Barcelona. Those arrested in Madrid include the leading officials of the General Labour Union. A quantity of arms were seized.
All the important buildings, including the residence of the Papal Nuncio are guarded. The troops are being kept in barracks and the Civil Guards occupy all strategic points in the city in anticipation of a general strike today.
The Government is disposed to recognise the strike if it as legally conducted and so long as it does not impede the public services. Otherwise stern measures are to be taken. The troops have been ordered to use their arms on the slightest sign of revolt.
The Premier (Senor Canalejas) has announced that he intends to end once and for all the threats of revolution.
A strict censorship of telegrams is being exercised.
