NEW ZEALANDER'S EXPERIENCE

WELLINGTON, Wednesday. During his visit to England, Ron a ld Opie, who competed at the Festival of Empire sports on New Zealand's behalf, ha 1 a fly in an aeroplane. He ! was taken up at Brooklands, Kn 0 - I laird's famous aero ground, by Picton I the English aeronaut. Asked as to what the sensation was ■ like, Oj-ie stated "it w.w like a ride 'in midair on a liO-mile-an-hour motor j car, an:l made one wish he had been horn an eagle instead of something' that creeps along the earth." The flight, which was delightfully exhilar- ' ating, had given him an increased P&- | sivect,. not unmixed with envy, for tin© i whole of the feathered tribe.
