Moving Picture Tragedy.
FATAL DIVE IN A POND
Albert Brighten, 35 years old, an actor, was drowned in New York last month while representing the part of a gallant rescuer diving into the water to save the life of the lovely heroine. The representation was 'being given to provide films for moving picture show. Brighton had previously tested the pond in which the tragedy occurred, and seemed satisfied that there was a sufficient depth, but when he dived from a boat his head stuck: in a mudbank, aid the heroine, when she perceive, cl that her rescuer did not rise again saved her own life- by swimming ashore. Sixty people seated in a country restaurant witnessed the accident, and help was soon forthcoming, hut four hours elapsed liefore the body was recovered. AH the time the him. ran, on until the roll was exhausted, and pictures of various men diving for the unfortunate actor were vividly reproduced.
