THE COMiNG ELECTIONS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, This (lay. THE FRANKLIN SEAT. It is stated that Mr W. F. Massey leader of the Opposition, has de-' finitely decided to contest the Franklin seat at the .general election. RAGLAN ELECTORATE. The Hon. Thos. Mackenzie, though deluged with requests from RagLan to stand for that electorate, has practically decided not to do so, having already promised to contest another constituency. CHINEMURI. The probable candidates for the Ohinemuri seat are Messrs Poland (the present member), Hickey (Socialist), and Mcßobie (Opposition.), but it is said that there is still a "dark horse" whose name has not yet been divulged. WAIKATO. As already announced, the present member (Mr H. J. Greens!,ade) will again stand against all comers. BAY. OF ISLANDS. WELLINGTON, Saturday. A petition from the Bay of Islands electors asks the Government to invite the present member for the Bay of Islands to a seat on the Treasury benches. Mr \. H. Re?.d, slitting member for the Bay, has occupied his seat for three years, but it is not anticipated the petition will le takem seriously. RAGLAN SEAT. A PUKEKOHE CANDIDATE. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Monday. Mr J. C. Dromgool, master of the Pukekohe High School, is resigning in order to contest the Raglan seat in the interests of the Government. WESTERN MAORI SEAT. Mr Keri Toke te Ahu, who is one of the seven candidates for the Western Maori District, and who intends standing in the interests of the Opposition at the general election, has addressed meetings at Te Kuiti and Takapu.
