♦ I THE PEACOCK CASE, THE MURDER QF MISS DAVIES. (Per Press Association.—Co£yiisiit() MELBOURNE, Sept. 16. Dr. Peacock was charged with Miss Davies' murder. Clifford Poke, Miss Davies' sweetheart, stated that he last saw Miss Davies - fat Peacock's hospital on August 17. He identified the jewellery and clothing found on the premises as belonging! to her. On August 22 Dr. Peacock told him that Mt'ss Davies was dead and asked him to leave the disposal of the body to him to secretly bury. He intended to take the girl's clothes to his farm at Carrum and burn them. Subsequently he said the body had been buried and the clothes burned. He warned witness to say nothing or jt would bd bad for both of them.
