Wie would remind intending exhibitors that entries for the Hamilton Horticultural Society's Spring- Show close cn Saturday, at 9.30 p.m. Exhibitors of narcissi are asked to note that the president's trophy for class 1!J is for (i varieties and not 12 as scheduled.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. hold their usual monthly sale a t Te Awamutu on Saturday next, Kith inst., when they will submit a good yarding of cattle, particulars of which 'are given in our advertising columns to-day. The sale starts at 12 o'clock sharp. All those interested in Caledonian Society matters are requested to attend the annual general meeting of the Caledonian Society at Frankton to-morrow night. The Society has been allotted the N.Z. Chamionsbip and the sport-lov-ing community should help the Society to make the meeting a big success by becoming active members.

The following have been chosen to represent the Hamilton ladies in a match against the Auckland junior representatives to be played at Seddon Park on Saturday next, 16th inst., at 3 p.m. Goal, N. Furze ; backs, D. Edgecombe and S. H. Jackson ; halves, D. Bollard, E. Holden, and D. Mitchell ; forwards, G. Stevens, G. Tomkins, I. I'ickiTink.r, M. Taylor and A. Jackson. Emergency, D. Smith. Players are reminded that it will be a club tea.

Thi attendance last night at the Empire Picture Company's entertainment at the Town Hals was very goad, considering the inclemency of the weather, and those who braved the elements were amply rewarded, the exhibition given being a iirstclass one. The programme includes among ether items, some of the most am using comedies we have seen, notably, "Queen for a Day." "Sage, Cherub and Widow," " Davy Somes in the South Seas," and "TontoMni',' Detective." These provoked hearty laughter. "Pathe's Gaaatte," is an exceptionally good one this week, and gives some splendid pictures of events* of recent happening in England. The •different dramas shown were also and the scenics and other subjects were all worth their place on the programme. It will be repeated to-morrow evening and also on Saturday evening.
