FOOTBALL.
ANGLO-WELSH v. N.S.W. WIN FOR BRITAIN. (Received 5, 9.15 p.m.) Sydney, August 5. The football match, Britain versus New South Wales, was played in wet weather on a muddy ground. The British forwards packed splendidly and went through the locals a wedge. f~~ Half way through the first spf ll the ball was kicked over the line, and Morgan secured a try, but the angle was difficult and Harding failed to add the major points. The British outclassed the New South Welshmen in the 6crums, and the game was very stubbornly contested in the second spell. The New South Wales back saved his side frequently, and the British were penalised right in front of their goal, bat Bede-Smith made a poor kick. There was no further score and Britain thus won by three points to ail.
