WEDDING BELLS.
WOODS-KIRKBAM. ?ie historic old chuich of St. John's in was the tcne of a v. ry pretty and fashionable wedding on Wedn' *■ day morning, the oontracing parties being Mr Frank D. Woods, Ihamn, acd Miss Gwendoline Kiikham.sKCind of Mr W. Kirkham, Te Awauiu u. Tue Bey Mr Clarke was the officiating - man and Mrs Ahier ably presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the beautifully decorated church, on the arm of her father was stylishly gowned in cream cloth :~y<A. with silk and trimmed with inser"Mon and lace. Her bridal hat was a dainty creation of tulle, silk, and flowers. She carried a lovely shower bouquet the work of [Mils Gardiner, and wore a Victorian chain and gold watch, the gift of the bridegroom. The bride was attended by three bridesmaids, Misses Kuby Woods, Kathleen Wilson and Carrie Kirkham. These maids
looked very charming in white mouselaine | 4*de Sois dresses, with lsce and inter tion trimmings and hats of ciip and chiffon. | The eider two carried beautiful shower ] bouquets, and the younger one a tloral crook. The bridegroom was accompanied by Mr F. Pavitt, ofTe Aroha, and Mr Dudley Bockettas groomsmen. A.9 the strains of the Wedding March pealed out the wedding party left the ehurcb, the happy couple being fairly deluged with rice and fiowere, and drove to "Haeremai," the b-m' of toe bride's parents where a sumptuous wedding breakfast was partaken of, and the usual toasts honoured. During the afternoon Mf and Mrs Woods left for Hamilton en route for the South, where the wedding tour is to be spent. The bridegroom's presents to the brides paid* was a case containing a silver mounted hair brush and o°mb and a prayer and hymn book aho silver mounted, to each one. The bride's present to the bride groom was a silver oigar case and pocket book. One bad only to view the costly and
numerous presents to underst«nd how popular the young couple were. Among the display was a silver tea cruet presented by the choir of St. John's Churcb, where the bride had been an active member for seme years, also a lovely diamond cluster ring the gift of the bride's mother.
