Messrs J. B. MacEwan and Co have received the following market report from Messrs Andrew Clement and Sons, dated London November 2nd : BITTER. General.—There is an exceptionally good demand for strictly finest salted, but there is very little about fine enough in quality to meet the demand. VVe consider that fairly high prices for this class of butter will rule up to Christmas, and, but for the mild weather we are now having quotations would be even higher than they are. Argentine.—The shipment per s..s Thames is to hand and quality is very fine, the goods bringing as high as ' anything on the market, For tomorrow we are advised of 1,380 packages per s.s. " Clyde." Australian.—The quantity of strictly fancy salted butter is still very small, while uusalted is slow of sale, i Quotations unaltered. Arrivals this week are the '• China', 6.394, and the"Suevic" 4,070, total 10,43 4 in comparison with 17,1-V, for week ending 2nd November, 1905. This week's sailings from Australia were " Britannia" 19,000, " Tropic" 16,000, making total quantity on the way 160,000. Canadian.—There is very Utile demand on this market but in the Midlands it is still in fair request at 112s and 114s, being preferred on account of colour. Arrivals agregate 4,368 packages against 3,595 for the corresponding week last year. New Zealand.—The first shipment of the season has arrived per s.s. " Karamea," 1,583 packages and the goods shew up very fine quality. Most of them were cleared at 116s, but in some cases 118s was made, Siberian,—There is very little of strictly finest arriving now the proportion of secondary being even higher than we last reported. Imports this week show a large decrease, 7,931 agaiust 14,771 last week and 5,184 for the correspoudiag week in 1905 and we expect quantities will continue to fall off from now on. CHEESE. No alteration to report in values, i Shipments are falling off considerably and Blocks decreasing gradually.
