A PARTING WORD.
SIR JOHN GORST AT AUCKLAND. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Sir John Gorst, who entertained a number of citizens at luncheon before his departure, said he desired to publicly return thanks for the extraordinary hospitality and kindness shown him. He spoke of the remarkable prosperity in New Zealand and the great growth of Imperial sentiment. We were in every way realising the aspirations of a great country, and were concerned in guarding against the introduction of evils under the Old Country cruelly suffered.
