AN IMPOSTOR SENTENCED.
THE WILLIAMSON CASE. (By Teuokaph.—Press Association). I AUCKLAND, This day. The trial of Annie Wilson Williamson, a young married woman, on ! charges of attempting to utter, forging a cheque and attempting to I obtain goods and cash by means of f?,ke pretences, has concluded. The accused stated that the cheque was \ given her by her husband and when j she presented it she was not aware i that-it was a forgery. In reply to' the Hon. J. A. Tole, Crown Solicitor, accused admitted carrying on a course I of systematic imposture and obtaining money from charitably disposed people by plausible pleas. The jury brought in a verdict of guilty with a strong recommendation to mercy. Sentence of six months was passed.
