STATEMENT OF DEFENCE. SYDNEY November 22. Crick occupied the whole dav with his statement of defence, generally denying the chatges. In the course of his statement he said that whilst I a minister's salary was tLj'i'.l, his professional income was never less j than £2UU'J per annum. He had lost his practice from too close attention to politics and would have to start from scratch agaiu.
