LIEUT. PEARY'S FEAT

LONDON, November 19

The details of Lieut. Peary's expedition in the Roosevelt show that it reached within LVi miles of the North Pole.

When returning the expedition encountered a severe snowstorm, the thermometer registering 75 belowzero. The Esquimaux accompanying the party were nearly mad with hunger. Lieutenant Clarke, in charge of another party, was lost 150 miles from the ship. His experiences were worse than Lieut. Peary's. He was afterwards rescued. LONDON, November 20.
