PERSONAL.
JDr. and Mrs Douglas, of Hamilton, went to -Auckland by the express on Saturday. Sir John Gorst is at present spending a few days with friends in the Wairarapa " s dutrict. Mr and Mrs and Miss Clark, who propose visiting the Exhibition at Christohurch left Cambridge to-day. ,(Jn Tuesday Sergeant Darby, of the Thames, arrives in Hamilton to take temporary charge of the station, pending the appointment of a successor to Sergeant Stapleton, which should be made about the end of the month. Mr H. F. Gibson, manager of the Bank ot New Zealand at Palmerston North, is (says the Duneiin Star) to be appointed branch inspector in place of Mr Green, promoted to the management at Dunedin. Mr James Forrest, of C mbridge, is retaining from his trip to England, via 'Fhsco. He will arrive home early in December. It is understood Mr J. Allwill is accompanying bim.
