A German desperado named Jen sen is Ferreira's lieutenant, am several of their followers are wantec by the German authorities in Damaraland. THE GERMAN FRONTIER. CAPETOWN. November l->. The Cape Times says that tlit raiders would never have ventured to attack the police without an assurance of Boer support. The Cape Government has discovered that a considerable amount ot gun-running has been going on across the German frontier. FERRI ERA'S INTENTIONS. BRUSH WITH THE FREEBOOTERS. CAPETOWN. November 11, A German commander named Klipdam informed the British camp at Bisogespoort on the <>lll that Ferreira intimated to the commander his intention to start a rebellion, adding that arms and ammunition taken from the Germans would be returned in a fortnight. Inspector \\ bite's patrol party came in contact with Ferriera fourteen miles eastward of Upington. After half an hour's tiring Ferriera retired to the bush. Inspector White returned to Upington owing to temporary illness. A start was made yesterday to intercept the second party of freebooters from the German border. A third party is advancing. Kakamas raids are expected at V amvymssolei, Brandvlei and Blockyynkelk, where there are quantities of unprotected stores, besides much harvested grain. Guards have been posted at Kakamas Drift and Orange river to intercept any attempt of the raiders to return to German territory. FERRIERA'S RECRUITING METHODS. THE RAID RIDICULED. CAPETOW X, November 11. Ferriera sentenced to death a man who refused to join him. The prisoner escaped. Messrs Merriman and Sauer ridicule the raid.
