The executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce is inquiring of the various Chambers whether, in the event of the seventh congress of the Imperial Chambers of Commerce being held in Melbourne, Canada or South Africa they will be represented ; also which country they prefer,

SYDNEY, September 27
The retail butchers complain that the wholesale price of meat is now higher than Australian meat sold in London and that a further advance will be made to-morrow. Amongst the reasons given for high prices is that graziers are stocking up on account of the good season and not sending to market, and the prohibition of Queensland cattle on account of the tick regulations.
