ST. ANDREW'S, HAMILTON

♦ ANNUAL MEETING. The forty first anniiil nveting of members of St. Andrews' Church, Hamilton, wis held in the classroom last night, when a fair attendance was presided over by the iloderator (Rev, W. Gow, of Cambridge.) The Moderator congratulated pastor and congregation on the progress made during the year, especially that among the young people. Mr Ramsay, in the session's report, stated that the work had been satisfactory. The departure of the Rev. Entrican occasioned a vacancy in the office of Moderator, filled by Rav. W. Gow. Membership was now 80, an increase of four. At communion on one or two occasions additional accommodation had to be provided. Daring! the year their own building had been erected at Frankton. The committee of management's report indicated that plans for enlargement of the Church had been approved, giving additional seating for about 40. There was now in hand for this purpose .£BS, which would be expended at once. An anonymous donation of jESO was devoted to the reduction of the Church debt which now stood at £IOO. The committee recommended that the number of managers be seven, elected by ballot; four elders also holding office.

The treasurer's report showed a small credit, among the principal items being the following:— Receipts: Collections, ,£l7O rents, .£29; debt reduction, £99 lis 6d ; missions,£l7ss3d. Expenditure: Minister, £109; debt reduction, £100; missions, £2O 9s. Frankton accounts showed among receipts: subscriptions, £2B 93 61; Loan, £150; sale land, £SS; subscriptions for noworgan, £2O; collections, £ls lis 3d. Expenditure: Land, £SO; paid Mr Mein tor loan £75; building £llß 5s ; organ, £2O; balance in bank, £10; cash in hand, £1 9s 3d. An interim report to Jure 30, showed that £o 8i 2d remained in the bank.

The Sunday school report, submitted by Miss G. G. Graham, was considered as showing highly the ability of Mr G. Skene Dixon as Superintendent and his teachers. The cry of " more teachers " was again raised.

Mr Hooper revd the report of the Young Men's Class, in which it was stitel that the building was now free of debt, due to the efforts of the members of the Young Ladies' Class. An appeal was made for more regular attendance at the morning class.

Miss McKee, hon. secretary of the Young Women's Bible Class, in a report on that branch of the work, said the second year of thecla3B saw it firmly established. The regular attendance of membrs and the keen interest taken in the lessons was most encouraging aud proof of steady and satisfactory progress. The membership was now 24.

Master John Ingram aroused hearty applause on reading his report on the Junior Bible Clas3, of which the membership is now 16.

After the adoption of these reports, the Rev. J, E. Adams, in moving a vote of thanks to the outgoing officers and all other helpers gave a short review, from the ministerial point of view, of the work and progress of the past year. If a church progresses, he said, it is owing to the elf >rts and support of the people. The contributions to home and foreign missions had not only increased, but multiplied The gross income was also a record.

Seconded by Mr Ramsay, the vote was carried unanimously. The committee of management was elected as follows; Or. Douglas Messrs J. E. Hammond, K. T. Ghlmour, A. Primrose, G. S. Dixon, N. Day, W. Lowe. Many matters of internal economy were discussed, am ongst them being the me of individual communion cups, this question being left to the session to initiate a proposal. The meeting closing with a vote of thanks to the Moderator, and the pronouncing <sf the Benediction.
