FEDERAL ELECTIONS.
SYDNEY, May 9. Owing to the congestion of work in the Electoral Department it is considered impossible for the Federal elections to be held before the second week in December. ADELAIDE, May 9. Senator Symon, speaking at Glenelg, said no amount of sophistry could purge Mr Deakin of the stain of treachery to his friends of a year ago. Mr Deakin had not swallowed Mr Watson. Mr Watson had swallowed Mr Deakin, but the Labour party find* ing Mr Deakin a Jonah, wanted to disgorge him.
