Major, who id leaving the district, kome nice dairy stock will be sold as well as some thoroughly good and useful horses. The sale will commence at 12 o'clock with the household effects. The second Regiment Auckland Mounted Bines is announcing a programme consisting of a military tournament on Sydney Square at 11 a.m., the annual regimental dinner and social reunion of ail vrho hove fought in South f- frica, to be held iu the Town Hall at ti.'M, and the regimental ball at U p.m. The third social evening in connection with St. Andrew's Bible Classes \va6 held in the classroom yesterday evening. Forrest, nurseryman, at Hukaaui, is to be couverted into a nursing home and missi ;n station. Misses Heron and Brereton, fiom Nelson, after completing their training at St. Mary's Home, Otahuhu, will take up their residence at Hukanui, next June, and a centre of teaching and nursing will be established there. Ma >ri girls will be trained, and nurses will be sent as required to the settlements of the district. It is intended to form similar centres at Waharoa, Taupo and Otorohanga.
