LONDON, January 29. Obituary : The King of Denmark
[King Christian IX was born in 1818 and was the son of the late Duke William of Schleswig - Holstein - Sonderburg-Glucks-burg and father of Queen Alexandra, of the dowager Empress of Russia and the King of Greece. He ascended the throne in 18G3. The heir to the throne is Crown "rince Frederick, who is married to Princess Louisa, daughter of King Karl XIV., of Sweden and Norway, whose second son, Prince Karl, was married in 18U6 to H.h'.H. i'nncess Maud, and was lately elected King of Norway.
