Horses.—At the Durham Yards on Friday wera entered in very large numbers, the quality being considerably above the average and competition for those of a good sort keen. A gig £'J lus, spring cart £l4. Cattle. —At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday dairies were yarded in large numbers and there was an average muster of beef. Ox sold from 25s to 325, and cow 2us to 2tis per 10J lbs. Fat steers made £7 10s to ,£l4 7s Gd, fat cows £o 5s to <£ln 12s Gd, stags £.} te ,£'l 17s Gd. A draft of 20 odd steers from the Kaipara averaged ,£l3 93. Dairy cows sold from .£1 10s to £l) ss, empty do. £1 2s Gd to £6 2s Gd, calves £t 12s to £2 10s. Oats: ihe demand from Australia has been good, and business has been limited. Everything coming forward finds a purchaser. At Addingtcn market the entries were only medium, except in the case of fat sheep, which were in large supply. Fat cattle numbered 173, for which there was just enough demand to cause clearance, and priees were about the same as last week. Per 1001b beef was worth HOs to 3Gs, and head sales were effected at values as follows Prime beefers, of which there were several, fetched from £l3 15s to £ls 10s : ordinary trade steers, heifers, £} 15s to £ll 10s ; cows. £5 10s to £ll ss; and one specially good beast at £l3 2s Gd. There was a good entry of fat sheep, and demand was fair, prices being rather easier, and most of tin.' sheep were in the wool.
