The Waikio Times Oflice, Friday. AUCKLAND MARKETS. Messrs A. Buckland & Sons' Weekly Report.-At the Hay market during the past week straw brought from 12s to 19s oad; oaten sheaves, 2s 3d to 2s Gd; meadow hay, Is 0(1 cwt; maize, Is lOd ; oats, Is lid bushel; bran, £2los; chaff, £'3 2s Od to £3 10s ton ; potatoes, £2 5-. Wn.ilpack3 and Little's sheep dip in constant demand. On Tuesday, hides, in short supply, were without alteration in price. Butchers' sheepskins from 3s to 4s lOd; lambskins, lOd to Is Id each; fleece wool from 5d to O^d; pieces, 2d to 4d lb, At Remuera on Thursday dairy cattle wern yarded in full number, and dull of sale, Prices ranged from £3 to £0 10s each ; store cattle, in better supply than usual, kept late values. Calves numerous: were at less values than for some weeks, Eat cattle in full number: 20S yarded kept late values. Prices ranged from 21s to 23s the 1001b, varying with quality, and were uniform throughout the sale. Sheep in full supply: 1580 yarded. Store sheep kept their late values, but fat she3p weie lower than last week. We quote: Maize on wharf, Is !)d to Is lOd; ex store, 2s; feed oats, Is 7d to 2s; bran, £2lss to £3 per ton; oaten chaff, £2 10s to £3 10s per ton. Horses: Nfn auction sales held on Friday, on account of the holiday. A few private sales were made at the previous week's values. Wool, hides, skins, tallow, hones: Average quantities pitched at the Durham Yards on Tuesday were in bridle demand. We quote: Ox hides, 2d to4W lb; cow. Hd to 2W ; calf skins, 2d to 3d lb; sheepskins, local, 3s to 5s each; country skins, Is to 3s 8d; pelts, 7d to 8d; lamb f-kins, Is GAd ; wool, in bags and dumps, oid to G|d; pieces, 21, dto 4d lb. Cattle: Fat and dairy stocks were brought forward in average number and disposed of at the previous week's values, A large number of stores changed hands at an advance on the previous week's values. At Newmarket there was good competition, which was also the case at Pukekohe, where the yards were well filled, We quote : Ox beef, 21s to 22s the 1001b; cow, 20s. Some averages of fat steers were: £9 Is 7«i, £8 lis lid, £8 ns 2d, £7 15s Gd, and £7l2s Od; cows, £0 10s, £5 12s Gd, £5 5s and £5. The attendance of bnyers was numerous, and consisted of buyers from a wide area of the district, including Tauranga, Whangarei, Mahurangi, Waikato, and other places. ,Grown steers in fresh condition advanced in value, and sold at from £slos to £6 17s Gd; three-year-olds, a shade lower, from £4 10s to £5, eighteen months to two years old; from £2 5s to £3 17s Gd ; dry cows, from £3los to £4l2s Gd , heifers, £2 2s Gd to £3lss; calves, £1 Is to £ll7sGd; bulls,£3losto£7each.

Quotations were about on a par with those <)i last week, but' the tone of the market was somewhat firmer. AVoal: The Waimate is now a full ship, and takes away the first instalment for the season. The clip continues to come forward in considerable quantities, both for local sale and London shipment. Our Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide branches advise successful sales in Australia, and the market remains fairly strong. Wheat: We are in receipt of advice from London that the tone of the market there is firmer, and New Zealand wheat has advanced Gd per qtvirter since last report.
