JOHN BROWNE, Cambridge, 21st September, 1894. 22/9 TO STAND THIS SEASON at Morrinsville and travel to Te Aroha and Walton!—The Thoroughbred Horse TASMANTasman is a dark hrown horse with ~ b'ack points, very muscular and compact big flat bone, with good feet; shows great strength all over combined with quality; splendid mover, and temper everything that can be desired. While on the turf he was a most consistent performer. He sported silk on 61 different occasions, winning no less than 31 events, ran 14 seconds 5 thirds, and 11 times unplaced. The value of the stakes won by him amounted to the large sum of £5500, and he left the turf as sound as the day he was foaled. A horse that could go through the amount of work he did without breaking down should leave us what we want-everyday horses. Terms : Half-bred mares, 4 guineas; three or more property of same owner, guineas; thoroughbreds, 6 guineas; payable on Ist January, 1595. Grazing Is per wfiek, All care taken but no responsibility. The performances of old Yatterina (as game a bit of stuff as ever graced the turf), will be remembered by all lovers of hovseflesh who were here early in the seventies; if they weren't! apply to French, trainer* Papakura, who will also give you Pin fire's character and tell you, as well o the Auckland Cup of 1891, he would have won that of 1892 only for an unfortunate accident; if he hadu't the winner would have had to put up a record. Pinfire was one of those out-and-out stayers, which are. unfortunately getting scarcer every day, that could make his own running and finish a really good two-mile race. Particulars of route in future issue however the horse will be two days early in the week, at Lochiel; end of week at Whatawhata. Good grazing, Is 6d per week. Freedom, by Captivator (imp.) out of Maid of Honour, is 7 years old, is a dark bay with black points, standing 16.1 hands high and showing superior quality of bone. He has a beautiful temper and good action. Terms: Single mares, 3|- guineas; two or more mares property of one owner, 3 guineas; lots of five mares, one free. Good grazing at Is 6d per week.
