MR D. C. MCINTYRE'S NEW PREMISES.

-:■■] ♦— — ■ :.',.;' . It seems only the other day that we re* corded the sale of a valuable frontage in Victoriaxstreet, Hamilton, to Mr D. C. Mclntyre, hairdresser and tobacconist, at a price which to many appeared a high .figure,-namely,' £lO a -'foot. l Considering; the limited space now available in this, the pick of the business sites in the town, we do not think Mr Mclntyre's judgment \va3 far astray, There now stands upon this section % handsome,,, building Jn,,keeping f with the architecturaldesigns;of 'the adjoining structures, the plans fori which wero. prepared by Mr T. Hi White, architect, the contract Evans, whose"-"price, with"! few extras, will bring the cost up to £4OO. Judging by th 3 satisfaction expressed by the proprietor, the whole of the work in connection with the building h&3 been carried out with that rega v d for faithfulness in all the details for which Mr Evans has established a reputation. The buildin? has a frontage of 20ft. to the. main street, and ( the shop, which is 18ft, by 14ft., has been 'very conveniently fitted up with a handsomely polished, counter, upon which are arranged glass cases containing a large and varied collection of briar wood and other pipes of every conceivable make and shape, without doubt the best assorts mentin Waikato.'. Due provision jhas also been made for the display in well atranged shelving for;the stock in other departments consisting of, tobaccos : and cigars, of all the best brands, fancy goods, stationery, toys, etc. Prom this part of the premises you pass into the hair dressing saloon, a comfortable little room 12feet by 15 feet; elegantly furnished and liberal supplied with all requirements in the tonsbrial department of the business.; Descending two or three steps brings one into the capacious and billiard-room, 24ft. by 18ft., with everything about it bright and new. The table, one of the best that could bo procured, is by G. Edwards, the wellknown London manufacturer, and has been put in at,a cost of over £125, .It stands on solid 'burin 'blocks, detached altogether from tlie flooring, due provision for which had- been made in the design; so that the tramping upon the floor has no effect whatever upon the table. In addition to the above there are other five rooms' which .provide,-for'!his requirements as a family man, these are conveniently • arranged so as to be entirely ■ tirely separate from the business portions of the building. Mr Mclntyre has certainly spared no expense,--the building is a substantial one, .well furnished within and without, and we congratulate him upon nis past success in business and trust continued prosperity will reward him tor the enter-, prise he has displayed in adding to the business premises of the town.
