The Egmont' Farmers' Unioir (Limited) report under date : •Hawera, November Ist, 1894.-Wehad a very well attended sale at Stratford.on Friday the 20th ult., the yards being well Stocked with cattle mostly of the dairying class. Bidding was brisk throughout and good business done, but-owing to the dry weather tjien prevailing a few lines were turned put unsold which would not otherwise have been. We quote—3 to 4-year steers, £4 lis; 2 steers, £3 lis (•d; yearling steers, .£2 Is to £2 12s Gd ; yearling heifers, E2 to £2 7s 'fid; fat cows, £4l2sGd to £5; store cows. £2 17* lid 1 to £3 10s; dairy; cows, £4 10s to £G s*; springers, £4 to £0; 18-months to 2-year heifers, £2 15s to £3, Our monthly horse fair was held on Saturday the 27th ult,, when quite a large entry oi horses was submitted to auction, there being many useful ones amongst the number which sold well. Although the sale was well patronised, bidding was not so brisk as might have been for inferior classes of horses, though we managed to quit the bulk of our entry, but at prices a trfle under the reserves. We quote: Draughts, £l3 to £23; trap horses, .£7 to £1210s; hacks, up to £lllos. There waßafair entry of stock at the Okaiawa Yards on Tuesday the 30th ult. peted for, though other classes sold fairly well, but bidding was slack throughout, still in spite of this we placed a good number, all fat bullocks with the exception of ono pen being placed before leaving, but at a drop of about 5s per head.
